Hello and welcome,
thanks for dropping by Power To The Pencil

So what's it all about?
Well, PTTP has taken various forms over the years, it's been a place for Gordon MacPherson [that's me] to post various experimental bits and pieces, while working as a Graphic Designer. An Artist at heart I am always looking at ways of pushing the technology I have at hand which aint much - a couple of rubber bands, a matchbox and a pap
er clip.

The site has also been home to my blog, regularly updated from the years 2004 - 2008. I don't do that so much anymore, probably because it's less of a novelty - I think since the introduction of Facebook and Twitter and the like it's really opened up the ol' interweb to everyone. I think it's magic! it's one of the few places where equality exists. It's no longer geeks that can publish stuff.

Anyway, following a recent face-lift this site is intended to give you a taste of what I've done and what I can do for you as a designer.

Working and living in Glasgow now, following a seven year stint in Aberdeen, a born Fifer, I grew up in Kelty and was educated at the esteemed Beath High School before going on to gain a BA Honours Degree in Art at Duncan of Jordanstone college, University of Dundee. Followed by a Graduate Diploma in IT from St Andrews Uni.

I learned my trade as a Graphic Designer working for printers and a Media Agency in Aberdeen.

I have moved in pursuit of soul, something that that place lacks and this place is oozing with.

Glasgow is also home to the band I play in, I am happier mixing things up with a bit of freelance, a bit of art, music, this and that. Keeping things varied and interesting is what I am all about right now and keeping keen.

Feel free to have a click around and should you want to get in touch, fire me a message via the enquiry form.

Thanks for reading, Gordon.
