Hello and welcome,
thanks for dropping by Power To The Pencil

So what's it all about?
Well, PTTP has taken various forms over the years, it's been a place for Gordon MacPherson [that's me] to post various experimental bits and pieces, while working as a Graphic Designer. An Artist at heart I am always looking at ways of pushing the technology I have at hand which aint much - a couple of rubber bands, a matchbox and a pap
er clip and this site is where I've published some of the results.

The site has also been home to my blog, regularly updated from the years 2004 - 2008. I don't do that so much anymore, probably because it's less of a novelty - I think since the introduction of Facebook and Twitter and the like it's really opened up the ol' interweb to everyone. I think it's magic! it's one of the few places where equality exists. It's no longer just geeks that can publish stuff.

Anyway, following a recent face-lift this site is intended to give you a taste of what I've done and what I can do for you as a designer.

Working and living in Glasgow now, following a seven year stint in Aberdeen, a born Fifer, I grew up in Kelty and was educated at the esteemed Beath High School before going on to gain a BA Honours Degree in Art at Duncan of Jordanstone college, University of Dundee. Followed by a Graduate Diploma in IT from St Andrews Uni.

I learned my trade as a Graphic Designer working for printers and a Media Agency in Aberdeen.

I moved to Glasgow in pursuit of soul, something the 'deen is sadly devoid of and something this place is oozing with, despite the warts. Glasgow is an honest city, it wears itself on it's sleeve, it's not pretending to be anything it isn't. I am in a place where I'm comfortable being me.

Glasgow is also home to the band I play in, I am happier mixing things up with a bit of freelance, a bit of art, music, this and that. Keeping things varied and interesting is what I am all about right now and keeping keen.

Anyway, that's more than enough about me...
